Dancing at CLX2014

Recommended Posts

Some dancers to go along with the other post today of the live entertainment at the Cambridge Lindy Exchange 2014 Sunday tea dance.

This may have been the middle of the afternoon but it didn't stop this lot from going for it and having a great deal of fun, despite the fact that some of them had been dancing until 4am the previous night!

Please restrict comments to the photography and/or respectful comments on the dancers or dancing, these are not posted for a caption competition (that may come later if I can get any of the dancers to agree). :)

Thank you :)

These type of pictures are always a challenge due to the (lack of) light and the speed of movement, so I tend to use diffused or bounced flash where people's faces are in shot. For the feet picture, I didn't use flash because I didn't care about movement, in fact I wanted it, so I just upped the iso to give a halfway usable shutter speed and fired off a number of shots from floor level.

The last one, my friend took using her usual settings for this kind of shot which ended up being a bit blurry because we were moving too fast (yeah, right), but I included it for fun :)

Not to mention the subjects being face to face or back to back or any combination of one only facing the lens

Did well Bugs

Sliding doors is a good dance move to get them side by side
