BEAUTIFUL BETTY

I met Beautiful Betty the other day, she is a very lively Bulldog pup, I only managed to shoot two decent portraits, this one is best because of her quizzical expression......most times she just wanted to leap at my camera.

Outside our local branch of COSTA is a good place to find both dogs and owners relaxing:

Thank you both, for your well observed observations.

This is a work, in progress, I am slowly learning the techniques of very the dark, rich processing done by talented member Pauln,

It involves darkening the background, then using all the layering and brushing tricks in the book to enhance tones and textures.

On my large desktop monitor, I had this shot just perfect......a dark rich ( not black) BG, then very rich foxy, golden red tones, with the targeted high pass sharpening emphasizing every tiny whisker.........it looked just fantastic.

Imagine, my disappointment then, when I saw it after posting to TIPF on my iPad screen.....it looks totally different and almost washed out.

I am consulting Paul, via PM......I work on it again tomorrow.

I really don't know how this is going to display...........I have brightened my monitor to something similar to my iPad (very bright) as an experiment to see if I can match what I see on both.

Not the most comfortable viewing on a 26 monitor, but I will persevere for the time being.

Here then, is a revised version of ....Beautiful Betty.....comments, observationsery welcome, but please bear in mind that I am experimening:
