Grey over Morecambe Bay

The forecasters issued a weather warning the day I went up Arnside Knott so I left the camera at home. As predicted, it precipitated profusely. During a brief lull in the downpour I captured the sun trying to break through on my phone camera. Within minutes it was raining again! There was very little difference between the colour and the mono version so I plumped for mono.

This looks bleak and I've got to say I like bleak. Mono is just about spot-on for this one.

Your pic brings to mind a couple of lines from a poem by a little-known Lancashire scribbler. I forget his name......

Nothing but grey over cold Morecambe Bay

No wonder the tourists are staying away

Ah! the sheer majesty of those words - they bring a tiny, tender tear to my eye.
