Although the halo around the rock needs attention :)

 

Thanks Phil! I did notice the halo and it's one of the reasons I'm really not sure about this picture. It doesn't appear on the original because the sky is very bright, but as soon at I bring the highlights down in Lightroom the halo appears. Maybe I could separate the background out and fix it in Photoshop; any ideas gratefully accepted.

Yes - that's one thing you could do. I had a go in Photoshop by selecting the upper portion of the rock, then transforming it slightly (up, left and right) just enough to hide the halo. Having said that, I didn't notice the halo until it was pointed out, and even then I didn't find it distracting.

(There's still a slight trace of halo lower left and right, which could be got rid of using a low opacity brush with the cloning tool).
