I spent 30 mins from 2am watching the lightning up in the clouds and again at 4.15am. Very little lightning was coming to earth.

We had quite a lot of lightning (sheet, not forked) yesterday evening, but no thunder. I disconnected my computer and router before going to bed, just in case.

 

Now, like John, it's grey and warm and muggy.

It's a good idea to take the phone line out of your router, at the very least - that's the way lightning could get from the outside into your computer and burn it out. Also, I have my computer and router plugged into an 'anti-surge' socket.
