Up against the wall in mono

I recently posted this pic in colour in the Landscape & Scenic section and Pauln suggested it may work well in mono. Since Paul seems to know what he's talking about and my tea won't be ready for another half hour, I thought I'd give it a try.

Please do comment on the processing since I have much to learn.

The processing is fine to my eyes. However, I think a slight crop would help the mono version? What do you think about this :

I think the subject carries more punch this way, but only perhaps in the mono version.

I do very much like the colour version too, but can't decide which I like more.

It does indeed work in B&W and there's little wrong withe the way you've converted it. Very nice

Chris's edit has indeed given it a bit more punch, but I'd be inclined to go one tiny step further and blitz the TV ariel that's poking up above the wall.

Just had the thought that this'll be an image processed by a committee!
