One day I am going to get the ID's correct

There where some male meadows there with there wings closed showing the orange bit (at least I think they were) No wonder this ringlet was obliging as all the other meadow browns  were flying all over and wouldnt settle

 

Thanks for the correct ID (double dose of horlicks for me tonight)

I give in I am going to label all butterflies unknown from now on

I actually checked on google under meadow brown male and there was an image nearly similar titled meadow brown but now ive googled male ringlet and there is an image like mine titled male ringlet

I will get better when matron arrives with the blue pills

I'm glad that sorted, cause I was very confused when I was sat admiring the Meadow Brown picture, thinking 'and all this time I have been naming them as Ringlets'.....
