Winter Gardens Theatre

This is a panorama made up of 4 shots. I originally took 16 with the intention of perhaps using 8. I used manual mode, 1/100 sec, f3.5, iso 6400. Exposure was boosted in Lightroom 5. My computer took 3 hours to knit these shots together in Photoshop elements 12. If I had the time to wait for my processor to catch up, or a decent computer, there are a few edits I would like to do. But on the whole I am quite pleased with the picture considering how dark it was inside the theatre.

What type of HDR software did you use Martyn? And how come it took THREE HOURS to process your panorama? (Mind you, it seems to have done the trick, I can't  see the joins).

No HDR software used Chris. I just did my usual edit in Lightroom and boosted the exposure by a few stops.  The lighting was really strange which may help the HDR effect; Florescent lights under the balcony gave a green tinge, coloured spotlights on the stage, chandeliers that gave a yellowy gold tinge to the ceiling and disco lighting on the floor.

As to the three hours, I dunno! I thought it was because I was asking a lot of my bargain basement computer, but it took 10 mins to do the same job today.

No HDR? Wow. There's few shadows and no bright highlights - always a sign of HDR, but in this case apparently not! All I can say is - wow.
