Cartmel Priory

Last week I decided to visit Cartmel Priory, a place I haven't visited since getting a decent camera. I was gutted to discover it was closed for major building work and most of the exterior of the building was covered in scaffolding. This view was the only one available without any glaring distractions, I even managed to edit out some stray building paraphernalia!

nowt wrong with that one Martyn although me being me I would have to sort the verticals

I did the verticals on the Auto setting in Lightroom, the distortion was severe with using a low viewpoint and a 10mm focal length. I know what you mean Colin, but I find the verticals can often look too straight and leave problems with the angles of corners, which I think looks worse.

like the shot....

...but I have come to the conclusion you spend far too much time around dead people.....you're not a ZOMBIE are you? .... or maybe a result of the Heysham power plant?

I think in cases like this, where the verticals are severely "distorted", it adds drama to a shot and I personally wouldn't adjust them. If they were only slightly out, then yes.

Too many boat shots, too much macro, too many dead people; I'm running out of thing to take pictures of!
