That's a magnificent  tree isn't it ....? It almost has the same feel as that famous Sycamore so wantonly felled  last year  up in Northumberland  near Hadrian's Wall. There is hope that a new tree will grow from the stump if it remains healthy. I believe  seeds were salvaged from the site  by the National Trust  and are  being grown in a high security greenhouse somewhere in Devon...

I wonder how old this oak tree is ? It looks like a lovely spot too Mik .

Thank you, I'm guessing this tree has to be at least 200 years old. The incident at Sycamore gap was distressing, I will never understand why someone would do such a thing, it's beyond me? A monochrome version.PSX_20240324_195811.thumb.jpg.2ab245ad4f9d0f3762deb6336649c905.jpg

They are such beautiful trees when given the space  just to "Show off" their strength, their  endurance and an almost spiritual aura  that makes them such a National iconic symbol . Looks  great in mono too Mik .
