Well I managed to catch some of it, went up Peak District was a bit of a failure as left tripod at home and head torch broke so had to hand hold for a 10 second exposure no image stabilisation but at 17mm on FF that helped a little could see to manual focus. Lot of lessons learnt for next time. Couldn’t see with naked eye and no moon as fog and mist blocked that

Well ....that's impressive  especially given the circumstances Monkey .. I am pretty useless at night time photography  !

My first go at night time photography and as said many lessons learnt it was black up there couldn't see the ground 4feet in front of me focusing proved an issue i would expect a 17mm lens on full frame even at f4 to have massive depth of field and cant make my mind up if the foreground is out of focus or too much blur from hand holding . But i wont give up it was a starting point and hopefully i will be getting a 24-70 f2.8 in a few months to play with as would like to do more night photography
