tis quite possible I have seen them and though...another flipping sparrow..!

 

Annie... you will only see them near water and Reed beds, I took these shots at the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust reserve at Slimbridge in Gloucestershire. Even though the reserve was created by Peter Scott in 1946 (my birth year) for the protection of water birds, they do put feeders all around the site for other birds too. You can see the Reeds in the second shot, I took the Greenfinch & Goldfinch shots from the same spot.
