LET'S HAVE A GANDER

 Newcomers appeared on our local pool yesterday...........a pair of very healthy looking Greylag Geese?

 

They are more timid than our resident stock of waterfowl, they just kept themselves at a safe distance from the duck feeding throngs and the loose dogs, fortunately, a few of the more observant visitors ensured they were able to get food by deliberately throwing it their way.

 

It was very touching to see just how much the Gander was protective of his mate.

 

The second study here has been processed just a little more than the first to bring out the amazing variety of  patterns and colour to bee seen in that corner of the pool during late afternoon in winter....the red is the watery reflection of someones coat.
