Caerlee Mill, was built by Alexander Brodie in 1778, it was the first water powered textile mill to be built in the Borders and the first woolen mill of the Industrial Revolution in Scotland 

 

My old place of work, I retired in 2007 and the majority of the workforce were made redundant in 2010, keeping on about 37 employees and finally went to the wall in early 2012.  I have just read a conservation study and it does not make happy reading.

I love the processing here - it gives a very bleak feel to the image that I like very much indeed.

 

I think you're right to give it a gritty border, but perhaps not this one. The top edge has a 'leaked' appearance which just doesn't look right to me.
