Bucket of Bones

Last summer I was helping my dad dig up a hedge in the garden. We found a few cattle bones and put them into a bucket but never threw them away. The bucket's now full of water.
That leads me to this rather unusual photo:

Hi, Barnaby, good to see you here, a very warm Welcome to the TIPF community.

If I remember right, prior to your house was built circa 1950 there were fields and a nearby farm, the bones are almost certainly  the remains of a long dead farm animal.....so no need to call Time Team in:

Good to see you are still using your camera.

Zip me an email or PM me........to catch up on your life at UNI.

I've been learning a new tune on the banjo today;

Chorus:

Went to see my Angeline,

They told me she was gone.

Left me here to weep a tear

and play on the old jaw bone.

Certainly makes for an interesting subject, much more colour than I would have expected. Well spotted. :smiling:

Love natural abstract

I think as you still have the bone there are more shots to be had

I agree with Chris about the background maybe you could set it up and use a larger aperture to blur out the background

I am not sure what the blue line is but it could be a reflection from the blue around the image as the water rides up with surface tension on the bone

I would chew at that bone a bit more different angles and apertures its got an intresting texture

Yes I probably could crop out that reflection.

I was also wondering what caused the blue tinge to the water just as it touches the jaw and if it can be avoided with a filter?

What Fuzzy said. Also, you could try adjusting either the White Balance on your camera or, if it has the equivalent of a My Colour setting, adjust to your liking. The other thing - and what I usually find easiest - is doing a bit of PP in the image editor of your choice (Apple's iPhoto in my case - Photoshop would also do it, particularly if you just wanted to adjust the blue tones without affecting anything else).
