As usual on my day off the weather is dull, grey, cold, wet, windy, miserable - or in other words typical!

Still I thought it would be a good opportunity to let my exposure times lengthen a little so dragged the tripod down to the beach along with the Pentax and the mutt.

As it happened even stopped right down I was getting times as short as 1/4s at 100iso so a little camera trickery was needed.

The K30 (like my Nikon) has a Multiple Exposure mode where you can decide between 2 and 9 shots that the camera then automatically adjusts the exposure for and stacks on top of each other. I love this technique as you can use a slightly faster exposure time to freeze details in the surf while still managing to get the feeling of movement due to them being layered on top of each other. I await Fuji's opinion of this over the more traditional 'milky' effect but for me I love it and had great fun.

This is an eight shot in-camera stack shot in RAW then processed using Nik SEP with a little tweaking afterwards in CS6.

This may surprise you BP, but I actually like it, because it doesnt really show the surface of the sea as Milky, your processing enhaces the sluggish surface movements that the sea has at certain times...love too the extra fine detail on the rocks and foreground because of the photo  stacking..

It is mIlky waterfalls that I really dont like.......they should be banned :yes  :yes  :yes
