BOOK LADY in MONO

In between, taking Street Photographs and my usual daily round, I try to spend a little time most days learning something photographic.

 

Today, I watched a YouTube tutorial on using the exposure slider to improve creativity on mono portraits, using my usual technique of layers and soft brushes to apply the changes gradually and seamlessly.

 

It is difficult to realise it is the same lady, from the colour version with the overbright top background:

 

I was helped enormously by also watching the....Ansell Adams .....Documentary on YouTube as reccomended by a TIPF member ver recntly.....it is a MUST if you havent watched it yet.

Loved every episode.....I have most of them on DVD from the earliest.....they give me much pleasure.......

Good for you Fuji - I have most of them taped from Yesterday TV (up until Foggy left the second time, then it slowly began to go downhill). But don't you think your book lady has more than a passing resemblance to the late Dame Thora?
