COLOURFUL CHARACTER

Recommended Posts

Seen in Stratford-Upon-Avon yesterday, this colourful character was too good to be missed.......I actually turned around, followed him and his pal for a few yards before politely requesting a portrait......thank fully he readily agreed.....I did give him my card in case he wants a copy:

Now, one has no control of lighting, posing or background for Street Portraits so this was shot with him facing almost into very bright sun and against a terrible BG of brilliant white wall and very harsh linear shadows....soo a bit of fudging was neccessary:

I just couldnt not take him.....could I?

To give an opposite opinion - I actually like the way you've softened the edges of his bobble hat, and to me the colour and contrast are just right (a 35mm appearance which I actually prefer to many modern shots which I find over saturated, too contrasty, and too sharp.) But maybe I just have different criteria for portraits compared to - say - landscape and architecture?

Whatever, yes you just had to shoot someone whose colour sense is just so so awful
