High Level Bridge, Newcastle

My first thought was that there's just too much water at the bottom of the image, but after having a longer gawp I think you have it just about right.

The shimmery reflections look great and the bridge is just about perfect in the frame. A very nice B&W conversion too!

I was in Gateshead early last year (we went to the The Baltic) but didn't have the opportunity to take photographs.

Thanks guys. Its the first time I have been with a camera, I parked in the Baltic car park and crossed over on the Millennium Bridge. I went to get a shot for the curves comp. as there are a lot of arched bridges and details like in the high level bridge in this post. I think what I entered for the monthly pic may have been just a bit OTT though lol.

But once you start taking photos of somewhere for the 1st time, you just can't stop! And I do have more including a sunset 1 that I am just not sure about - so I may put that up in the critique section later.

I think the High Level Bridge is a magnificent piece of architecture and I am pleased that this shot does go someway to conveying that, and I am enjoying experimenting with different tones (warm, cool etc) and contrast in my mono conversions. Some will work and some wont - and some I think work wont too lol :)
