The title is wrong on both counts - he wasn't German, he was English and he certainly wasn't a musician.

 

The title come from a traditional English song and I've always wanted to use it for a photo title - this is the nearest  I've got.

 

A little experiment with using Topaz Clean for portrait thingies.

Its got an odd feel to it  diffrent textures

It certainly gives this an unusaul dimension. The colours are really vibrant and lots of textures. I like it too

I do like the subject and the composition. In fact, both are so strong, I wonder why you use that HDR-like filter? I really don't think a picture of that strength needs it? But that's just my opinion.

To be honest, I wasn't sure that the image is strong enough on its own and that's why I played around with it. I shall do another version and this time leave out the extra twiddles.

That would be good - I'd love to see the same edit but without the filter  Just to compare the two of course...
