liking the top one  :yes

 

and as members keep mentioning they are dark, and to be fair they don't look bad on my monitor, I have looked at the levels which are a little bit off I would suggest if you are shooting in raw this is something easily corrected.

 

The top one is a lovely capture nice dof which makes the squirrel stand out from the back ground, I would maybe add a touch of sharpening when processing the raw file but I could live with it as it is, keep em' coming.

All I did was to drag the shadows slider a little way across. I only did it quick to show you.

 

 

Much better. I'm not sure I can see this extra graininess you speak of though - I'm nearly finished scanning my colour prints from years back, and those do show grain (but it's not ugly, in my opinion, compared to JPEG compression artefacts).
