The ford is literally within three minutes of my front door, it can be impassable after heavy rain, but as you can clearly see here it can make a spectacle when only a watersplash:

Nicely caught, but are you sure you're not living next to a rally circuit?

It certainly feels like it some days Bugsy.........unless our elusive pretend Bobby has his radar gun out at the top of the road ;-)

Looking at the blurs INSIDE the car, they must be listening to "Bohemian Rhapsody" and one of them is called Wayne

2 words........

Hydrolock and Engine.......

I had to look that up Leon........That is what must happen to the Diesel engines of many nut driven vehicles that break down regularly after a mad dash through the ford when it is deeper than shown here......earlier this year a huge truck got caught out....mind you, the water was over four feet deep and the road flooded for at least 200 yards either side of the ford.

Kenilworth yoof for centuries have, stood by to offer pushes or tows to silly drivers who think their vehicles can swim......my son used to make a small fortune when he owned a HILUX 4X4 with giant wheels.

It used to be, that, except for a couple of small warning signs, drivers were left to make up their own minds.....nowadays......Elf and Safety.....means that the authorities close the road when six inches of water cross the road......local drivers, know and respect the ford so will drive around the barriers, as will the regular heavy goods vehicles.

Kenilworth born and bred folk are known for being amused either by watching traffic lights change, or watching vehicles going through the ford. ;-)
