It looks like something that's been removed during a surgical procedure .  :o  Very good shot, though.

only nanny could come up with that...lol!

 

does look like a beefsteak....but i was wondering if it could be a southern bracket, due to that white frill around the edge, don't think a beefsteak has that ..

i never touch them martyn.

 

when i was in my twenties and had just left london to move to cambridgeshire i lived next door to a lady in her sixties, who became the best friend i have ever had, she knew all the edible fungus and nuts and berries, we used to wander miles collecting stuff and then sit and eat, sad thing was i never actually took in and learnt her recipes and skills...
