This was the original shot - to be honest I think it stands ok without treatment, but I did want to give it a bit more 'pop'. So the second one shows it after the application of various filters etc in Photoshop. What do you think? Should I have left well alone or has it added something?

Although the second picture has more colour and visual impact, there are a lot of effects visible that look a bit like solarisation especially in the sky and the way it has lifted the horizon.

Of the two, i definitely prefer the first, but the filtration certainly has promise.

For colour the first

But the image is intrigueing The contrast between the gormans and the wind farm and the angle at which you have positioned them makes it look like they are walking to the generators

I dont think that will be the last play you will have with this image and I wouldnt blame you

The effects (as I remember them) were : posterisation - there's your solarisation - levels, saturation, and a photo filter which is what added the red colour

First one for me too - its a great shot without the coloured filter, although I think I'd like to see it with a green or yellow filter - It'd look very other worldly :-)

Did you mean as in adding those actual hues, or as in adding those filters onto a B&W version?
