Last month was my first full month with a proper camera, my new Nikon D5100. So when the monthly theme of STONE was announced I made a concerted effort to do the best I could and enter a photograph in the challenge. Since it's only one entry per person, these pics are just a few of the best that i took that didn't make the grade.

I think you should have entered them into POTM too.

Interesting you should say that Korky! This was the shot I was going to use, but as you say, the sky needs some work. I decided not to use this one because there was no foreground interest.

The birds or all over Morecambe, these particular ones are on the stone Jetty. The reason I didn't use this shot in the monthly challenge is because I discovered that the birds are not made of stone, they are sheets of steel cut out and welded together. I know the big rock is a stone but the main subject isn't so I didn't want to bend the rules!
