thought I'd show you my first bit of editing.

 

I took 3 bracketed shots of the sunset with the in camera settings, used a ND4 filter for a good detailed shot( 0nly used 2 shots for the hdr conversion, just looked wrong)

 

 

 

and the HDR version, if you look at it on it's very subtle.

 

 

then I went a little OTT but I kinda like the end result.

 

 

I also did a bit of a crop, hope the composition is right, I also got rid of the large stone from the bottom left corner. just a shame there was so much litter

 

I know it's basic editing but I have to learn loads

I too like the subtle HDR, but here's a thought : couldn't you get the same effect by using -1 EC, then gently tweak the shadows slider to bring out the log detail? It would be a lot quicker!

Subtle for me too - subtle always seems to work best with HDR effects.
