Apache surveys my garden

Living near (flying time) to Wattisham Airfield (home of the Apache), we regularly get these formidable 'war birds' flying around these parts.

However, I never seem to have the camera to hand, and if I do, its got the wrong lens attached.

A few days ago, I was in the garden and heard one of these helicopters approaching. I reckoned he was on course to fly over my garden, so I quickly grabbed the camera, attached the 70-300, and banged off a couple of 'shots'.

Not that good a picture technically, but a good test for the image stabilisation, as I was panning to follow him, and get him in the centre of a frame.

The image is slightly cropped from the original.

BTW, it could well have been Prince Harry himself, as he is based at this airfield, and is qualified to fly these things. :welcome:
