while up in Ayrshire I noticed how little light pollution there was compared to Bolton, one night I sat out with a bottle of local blonde ale and grabbed a few moon shots, remember I now only have a 300mm lens (I miss my bridge sometimes) the only thing I have done is cropped in.

Great shot Leon, my only criticism would be that it's cropped a bit tight. For me, the exposure is spot on though. I'd love to be able to get some good clear shots of the moon like this, I have the idea that I could paste them into pictures where the sky is boring.

I have taken the liberty of 'tweaking' your image in Photo Shop, to sharpen things up a bit so that the craters near the limb stand out more, and to increase the contrast difference between Maria (dark areas) and the lighter areas of the Moon's surface.

 

Its a good 'shot' and its all there, but just needed bringing out a bit.

I have the little blue camera icon because i use chrome and have loaded an exif viewer addon which puts the little blue camera on images so you can view the exif data
