Just to prove that I am as much of a Bug Hunter as the usual gang, here are a couple of shots via the Macro setting of my little LX5 Compact.....I am, at last, beginning to get the hang of it's foibles and limitations:

 

The Hoverfly, is more of an Arty study rather than an....all-over....pin-sharp example:

 

The Bee is better, sharpwise......I love the DOF this little camera produces on the Macro setting with the lens wide open:

Very good! Especially the bee.

 

I know the LX5 is superior in many ways to my own FZ38 (bigger sensor, for one thing). But I have noticed that even though the closest focus macro on the FZ is only achievable at full wideangle, nevertheless it produces a good shallow DOF, contrary to all preconceived notions of WA settings.
