Peacock Butterfly.

It's a lovely shot.
I am seeing more of these butterflies tin the last week or so than have ever seen. I wonder if the humid weather we have had just lately is responsible for more of them to emerge.

I couldn't say for sure but I think the warmer weather of the last few weeks has helped butterflies especially following the wet summer last year. I haven't seen a single small copper so far this year.

Peacocks are a colourful butterfly and with the black edging of there wings, given the correct background, make them look nearly 3D

I saw one slightly golden colour with a brown spot on it's wing but it was blurred. Would that have been a copper or are they bigger.
Will look in my book later, but I onlt saw the one.

lovely john....been a good year for butterfly's round these parts. was chatting with one of the park rangers the other day and he was saying compared to the last three years, this has been a really good year for them. hopefully I can get out next week and get some snaps, the rug rats will all be gone and I will be free again.
