Now that's what I CALL a still life! I do hope it's cider in that glass?

Your avatar intrigues me.....is it the recently dug up King Richard III or a relative? ;-)

No, it's actually a photo I took myself! I was on various archaeological digs in the 1970s, and that chap (or chapess) was unearthed in a Roman-era cemetery at Cirencester.

I remember one Friday night in particular. We'd all been down the pub and were carousing our way back to the campsite which was by the cemetery dig. There was a thunderstorm at the time, and as we passed the dig, flashes of lightning lit up all these skeletons lying there. Oh, we laughed! Then walked a lot quicker back to the campsite...

I love this picture Fuji, I've sat for quite a while just looking at the composition and lighting. I like the way you've got an almost waxy look to the apple reminiscent of a painting. I can't see any strong light points in the reflection, so I'm presuming you used the natural light through the door and window plus a table lamp.

Thank you all....

Love the skeleton story.....I too have been an active archaeological digger, as an amatuer under pro supervision.....fascinating stuff.

A huge thank you to Martyn for your very positive moments and feedback .......as memory serves me.....you are right about it being carefully shot using just natural light.

What makes the reflections interesting is that even though my working light from a Victorian bay window behind me in the Living Room, allowed the capture, the reflections are from the glazed back door in the kitchen opposite but at an angle......I must admit that I didn't realise that until I looked at the reflections more closely on my iPad.

I think it is that which adds to the whole.

Now come on folks.....this is the.....STILL LIFE FORUM......lets see more from you please.
