A single Rose...

Recommended Posts

I went through a phase of snapping roses, which I found quite therapeutic at the time, haha.

I also notice now that there is some vignetting in the corners, (have I used the right word....?),

Anyway, I hope you like.........the backdrop needed to be lighter, but it was the best I could do at the time.

That is beautiful.

You mention that the backdrop could be lighter. Well, it could, but I don't think it needs to be in this case. The rose colours are very subtle and pastel-like, and may be overpowered by a very bright background. (my opinion and others may vary :) )

yup I'll agree with that, I know a lot of people like black backdrops but I find they can make the subject look harsh, very nice as it is.

and Beth if you are looking for tips try an over exposed shot (take one or two at different settings) and try a high key look which often works well with this kind of subject.

Well, thank you everyone for your feedback, it has really cheered my day.  Woke up this morning and found my little guinea pig dead by her food bowl.  I know she was just a guinea pig, but I loved her to bits, such a character.  So thank you for the little joy you have all brought me this afternoon.  :yes

I am sorry that you have lost your little pet, Beth.

It must have been a shock, but at least you know she went happy as she was able to eat up until the end.

It sounds like you little guinea pig was loved a lot and had a good life.

Glad that our comments cheered you up a little. Chin up!

sorry for your loss Beth, no loved pet is just anything, they are a beloved part of your family and are to be mourned as such.

We lost one of our dogs just over two weeks ago so i know how you are feeling :(
