I have just looked at and been amazed at a 10 frame stack of a tiny Water Flea shot with a..............

......FUJI HS 30 compact camera with a RAYNOX 250 attached.........it proves beyond doubt that for decent macro photography you don't need to invest in a £1000 camera And a £750 dedicated Macro Lens.

The HS 30 is circa £350 and. RAYNOX 250 circa £45......

I can put a link to the image which is on the dedicated Macro Forum if PHIL OKs it.

the biggest advantage a HS series camera has over the others is manual focus, my buddy Gerry had a HS20, it was only really superior at focusing the rest (except a bit of zoom) was pretty on par.   as for the Raynox they are great but tricky to use
