Snails are beginning to hide away for winter....this one seems to have been caught out by a cold spell so has hunkered down until conditions are right for him to move again:

I was attracted to the patterns on his shell....hence my title:

Well done in choosing a subject that is so common that its hardly ever noticed never mind photographed.Ive had a snail stuck to my bathroom ceiling for the past three years,he's either very lazy  or dead. :thumbsd:! However Ill try to appreciate its shell more.

Your focusing is spot on. Did you manually focus.

I have to rely on the Auto focus most of the time as my cataracts aren't bad enough to be done yet.

The bi-foculs are a bit of a pain when manually focusing too.

Unless I am shooting macro I almost always use Auto-Focus............I have learned to keep the camera as still as possible as I do.......having a wide aperture helps to speed up the shutter speed so there is less likelihood of camera shake.

I was wearing my brand new Variofocals ......they are brilliant!

I really wish you well with your cataract treatment when it happens.......it tool me almost three years from diagnosis to the surgery on my second eye with about twelve weeks in between each one.......the operation is a doddle........all over in around twenty minutes or less.
