Cannon fire

Recommended Posts

Taken at Ickworth earlier this year. They hosted a recreation event with people in character from the Napoleonic times and I managed to get a couple of the cannon firing.

A good fun event that has taken place around Easter for at least the last two years and I am told they'll be back next year. The participants are happy to talk to visitors about the life of the times as well as taking part in activities through the weekend

Beautifully captured Bugsy......you have pressed the shutter at dead on the right time in each case.

We live very close to our local Casle, English Heritage host regular visits by various re-enactment groups, many of them using cannon and other firearms.......I love it when they are there, because the cannon often make our house shake....any neighbour who complains gets short shrift from me because.....live next to a historic site and you can expect events. I have lived here since 1966 and my wife all her life, it never bothers us.....just recently moved in folk who fail to understand history.

The best cannon ever was at the castle during the anniversary of the Spanish Armarda, English Heritage commissioned a pair of huge replica cannon together with specialy trained firing team.....I was there every day, the noise from them was spectacular......cleared all the wax out if ones ears instantly.
