lol. It took me a few tries to get this one.

A little boy was throwing crisps in for them, and they were going mad for them, Annie. lol.I did crop some of the surplus water off  but they were very near anyway.
I had the camera aimed in the direction of where the food was being thrown.

I'm getting a bit more patient now and have the camera ready.

I can honestly say that the only other time I have witnessed being hand fed like this was at a Cotswolds Trout Farm, where they are fed just once or twice a day.

The wild Carp in our local pool until this year have been rather shy.......since the dark days of last winter when the pool was ice covered and then the terrible Spring I am guessing that natural food for the carp became scarce especially when they had to compete with the hundreds of ducks and other water fowl.

It was around early May when regular Duck Feeders began to draw attention to the ever increasing feeding frenzy....just lately, as you can see from this, and my recent post, the water literally boils with fish all fighting between themselves and challenging the ducks for almost anything thrown into the water.

The Medieval Fish Pool, was re-constructed after what was once ( when I were a lad) a rather damp field flooded more often, right next to the pool are the ruins of what was once a large Abbey ........the size and quantity of the fish breeding during the last few years clearly demonstrate just how those ancient Monks used the natural resources to help feed themselves.

At the bottom of our back lane, there is a Protected, Sheduled field containing ranks of Stoops or Fish Storage Ponds used by both the Abbey and nearby Castle.......looking at the growth rate and current size of the carp, I can see how they would provide a good meal.

ANNIE......Any good recipes for cooking CARP???

I have read somewhere that they need to be ket in increasingly clean water so they naturally get rid of their muddy taste........Or, perhaps, that was what those lines of Stoops were for?
