Ducks on a Mission

Recommended Posts

These ducks and more were gathering together before forming a very long perfect line for a swim up the river.
When we walked to the other side, they were on their way back, but I couldn't get a good enough viewpoint to get a shot then. After that, they all turned around and went back up the river in a line again.

There looked to be roughly about 100 give or take a few.

A Duck RELAY RACE......I bet?

Organised by Bill Webb....but everyone knows he'se a bit Quackers....

....or.....the adult ducks are teaching their offspring to avoid low hanging foliage by swimming in a line shouting....DUCK! each time they encounter some.

Or.......it's the International.....Duck Line Dancing/Synchronised Swimming Team practicing?

Then again.....they could be playing TRAINS as a mark of recognition of the anniversary of the unbroken speed record for steam Trains by the......MALLARD.....being held at the York Railway Museum currently.

Well observed Nanny ;-)

I was eating a sandwich at the time so couldn't get to the edge of the river in time to see if I could get a better shot, Annie.

It was intended to be a landscape shot with a few ducks in it to give it interest until John pointed out how many there were.

ROFL Fuji. I know know how you think them up.

It was an overcast day so I wonder if the weather had something to do with the way that the ducks were behaving.
