Baby Blackbird

Recommended Posts

I presume it's quite a young blackbird, but it is very big.
He had been coming more and more on his own for the past week and waits for the pigeons to have their fill before tucking in. We have had to put a small separate bird table up for the blue-tits so they can get their share.

i make my own suet cakes and fat balls nanny. i just melt down a couple of blocks of lard, add sultanas, suet, and other bits, then put it in containers for the sizes i need to fit my feeders. the birds go made for it. i don't let them have it through the summer though cause it melts in the sun, (sun, that's a joke)

Thanks everyone. I am chuffed that he was so friendly andd I could get a couple of shots from close up.

Annie, we buy three suet blocks in a pack each in it's own container, for £1.69p so it probatbly works out just as cheap.

It's quite firm and doesn't met to much in the heat.

They are from a shop called "Home Bargains" and their bird food is very reasonable. Even cheaper than the £ shop.

You could Google to see if there is one anywhere near you as I think there are a few spread around..
