Total Lunar Eclipse

Recommended Posts

It was actually clear for this eclipse on the 3rd of March 2007. :thumbsu:

As seen from the Moon the eclipsed Earth appears four time the size of our Moon does to us,whats more, even when the Sun is fully obscured light licks around our planet due to our thick atmosphere giving the Moon a brick red appearance. It must be some sight a huge red ring of fire hanging in the sky, caused in effect by all the sunsets on Earth seen together.

Taken with a CONCORD compact attached to a 20mm eyepiece on a driven Helios 200mm f5 Explorer reflector.

That certainly is a startling image - all the more impressive that it's been taken with a compact camera. Nice work!

Unless, of course, it's really a photo of a pool ball that you've splashed with some emulsion you had left over from when you did the bathroom. Just a thought! :thumbsu:
