Not a good shot but it's the first time I've photographed one of these moths. This one was having a job not to get blown away, most of the time I was trying to take the photo the wind was blowing it's left wing vertical and the moth seemed to just about hang in there. When I was a kid ( shut it... don't say anything.. ) these used to be common, the caterpillars are yellow and black striped and could often be seen on groundsel. I have just been reading about them and their numbers have dropped by over 80% in the last 35 years. Just what the hell are we humans doing to this planet of ours? How long before the human race start to decline... not long is my guess, we should all start to take the decline in just about every species as a warning that our turn is just around the corner.
