By a very strange coincidence I was shooting very similar pics of snails after the day-long heavy rain brought them out to play....Well done, because if using a Macro lens the restricted depth of field ensures OOF areas....you have done very well here Fuzzy::

I am still learning this macro malarky Having read as much as the cranium will hold I have found that if I focus in the general area then hunt with my body for the correct focus it is easier than using the ring to focus

I also found (as snails dont do 0 to 60 in 2 secs) that focusing on the extremes with diffrent frames allows you to stack, it only needs slight movement to achieve this

I also found grass stains are the devil to get out of my chinos at least mrs D did. Must get a square of material to kneel on

The snail was two exposures stacked to give me deeper dof

Its not easy and I am knee deep in discarded pixels here but having great fun

Shove a folded up black binbag in your pocket or bag. Not as soft as a square of material but a lot lighter and smaller to carry
