The View

Recommended Posts

For the past few weeks I've been taking the boys and the dog out every night after work. Gives me a breath of fresh air, gives the dog a good run about and I have this wild notion that it might tire the boys out - doesn't like. Our usual walk is over the local Cleadon Hills.

The view is varied with Penshaw Monument in one direction and Sunderland in another - the shots I posted a weeks or so back of the dramatic skies were taken from here and were shot towards Gateshead and Newcastle, you can also add South Shields, Boldon and a few other to the list of places you can see from the top.

A couple from the last few days when the sun has been out.

I thought the gorse looked a little like the tower blocks only more organic.

The Monument is about ten miles away while the church is just at the bottom of the hills in Cleadon itself, love how the long lens makes them appear closer together.

Both shot with the Galaxy Camera using its fantastic 21x zoom to compress perspective.

That little Galaxy camera certainly does what it says on the tin BP.......Love the gorse one, and think that you succesfully bent the rules on central composition and portrait format landscape with the second.....Well done! That Man:
