PROGRESS REPORT

Recommended Posts

It is some months now since I upgraded my Panasonic GX7 to the improved GX8 ....this post is by way of a review and feedback now that I have become used to handling this excellent camera.

One of my biggest surprises, and to my delight and amazement has been the sheer versatility of the 12-60 kit Lens that came with the camera, it seems to be able to focus very close at almost any setting, from close up to enabling superb candid portraits.

Not forgetting its Street Photography setting of between 40 and 50 and then extra wide at 12 for creative landscape and architectural shots. The lens is as light as a father and very quick to focus....

To be honest, I have been very reluctant to take it of, for any of my other AF or my vintage lenses.

The proof of the pudding, as they say is in the eating....

Here are just two of my recent studies....my next three o so post have all been shot through this same incredible bit of lens engineering.

Lovely camera the GX8 it was my first m4/3, the only reason i parted with it was the 100-400 i had at the time was very stiff to zoom, gripping the camera to hold against the stiff zoom twisting made me catch buttons, i think i could have deactivated them but that didn't seem to be a good idea.
