LR and PS Issue

Phil

Recommended Posts

This has driven me mad for a couple of weeks now, I can only assume it is related to Adobe's updates at the time. I'd appreciate any help you can offer.

As you can see from the PS screenshot, using the Save For Web option has increased the saturation. The same is happening with LR, the image on the left is the exported version of what you see within LR.

I never save for the web after using LR6 and PSE 15 as once I am happy with the edit I resize then Save As.

I use 'Save As' so I can control the file size, besides, Save As is the same. I don't think the problem is the saving, I think it's the way Adobe is displaying the images, colour space etc.

Are you using  chrome as your browser by any chance?

Indeed I am.

Hello Phil,

Tried this myself in CS6;

JPEG  Save as - get both on screen at 100% the opposite of what you get, desaturation and blur

TIFF Save as - get both on screen at 100% both exactly the same.

I've noticed this before and always use Unsharp Mask and Hue/Saturation to get the same images, again at 100%. If that's one of the cloud versions your using looks as though they've over compensated. Or vice versa if you are using an older version.

Cheers

Sorry Phil I  misread your post on my iPad ...I thought you said the posted image was over saturated . I presume you have checked out all the googled stuff that suggests  reasons for colour shifting may be the profile option in the save to web  drop down menu in Photoshop and that the convert to sRGB box should be unchecked.. I think the default setting is for it to be checked ...Personally I never use the save to web option.

You've probably tried all this ...  but thought  it at least worth a post ....in case ;)

Hello all,

Out of interest I loaded my copy of Ps7 from 2002
To see if it would work on Win10 and if it was as fast as CS6
And what would happen to a Save As with a JPEG

It does work and works blazingly fast
A Saved As JPEG shows no difference at all
The save for web does a GIF so I didn't bother with that
I did reduce it to 800 x 600 and that shows no difference
This was all done with the 'out of box' program

I do like CS6 but think I wasted my money, I bought into a group licence purchase.
And I only paid £25 for a genuine Ps7, such is life

Cheers

Totally useless!
I've just had the below online chat with an Adobe rep. He took control of my machine, adjusted a few settings, then finishes by telling me it's a trait of the latest versions of LR and PS and I'm stuck with not exporting what I'm seeing in both programs.
This is the latter 2 thirds of the conversation, the first was in a different chat window before he took control.
