KEEP ME POSTED

I have learned something that I wish to pass on to all those interested in Post-Processing whether the final outcome is in colour or mono.

All of my previous mono processing has been done in CS6 alone,, especially my careful, contrast grading which puts chosen tones exactly where i chose.

Sometimes we can all have that EUREKA moment...

It was after watching a YouTube video on using the  NIK SILVER EFEX  plugin that I realised that each time you choose a particular filter you have a choice between it being applied to the whole  ( which is what I have dione in the past)....or....Choose the    BRUSH...the software automatically sets up a darkened adjustment layer, on which you can choose where t have your chosen sliders and at what opacity etc.

You then adjust he size of the brush and PAINT on the adjustment EXACTLY where you want it.

Below is my original colour shot reduced for posting here as a JPEG    alongside is exactly the same shot, after 10 minutes of carefully targeted mono effects from curves through to texture.

Once the method and workflow is mastered post processing is a doddle   even for an Octogenarian like me.

Observations, comments and feedback very welcome, so that we can all learn, then share our skills.
