I didn't know there were Muntjac Deer in the woods near me... but I do now. I have mixed feeling about these little Asian invaders... cute yes... destructive though considering they are only about 20 inches tall.

they are cute, and destructive too.

i have been on many shoots and seen them shot...hate it. the landed gentry eat them....!

Many years ago I used to go shooting (not deer), rabbits, pheasants etc. I gave that up years ago and only shoot with my camera now... hunter turned conservationist so to speak.

these were pheasant shots, the posher the shoot the more inclined they are to shoot at anything, even a beater got a leg full of shot on one beat cause some idiot posh bloke thought it would be a good idea to shoot low.........what a fool!

the best shoots i have ever done were always the 'normal' guys for want of a better description...they always followed the rules and never shot at anything other than pheasant, partridge and such.....
