SOFT LIGHT EXPERIMENT

Some nights I just don't sleep well, and so that I don't disturb ...'Er Indoors....I go downstairs to have a cup of tea, have a think, then doze in the armchair until shower-time.

 

Very early this morning I got round to thinking of lighting and realised that an iPad or other Tablet, switched on but with a plain white screen would make an ideal very soft light for certain subjects:

 

Here, you can see that....after I woke up...I tried it out, and it works.

 

You can see the iPad as the sole light source is lighting the flowers beautifully....I did need to brighten the shot in CS3....so would need a slower shutter speed and a tripod if I used the set-up seriously:

Essentially it works as a 9.6" soft box - any a very good job it does too.
