For the Birdwatchers (Webcam on Nottingham University Roof)

Mum has been right off the chicks for them to have a bit of sun. She has snuggled them up again now but it looked like three chicks wriggling about so all must be ok at the moment.

You do realise that I am now hooked!

Just spent the last half hour watching the adult(s) come and go, not seen any feeding as yet but I have to say that both chicks look to be in fine fettle.

 

Aren't there a lot of buses in Nottingham?

It also looks to be a busy place at night too, Phil and yes it is very addictive watching them, isn't it?

Gosh... the three chicks have grown in 6 days.

Mum and dad have gone fly-about leaving the chicks on their own in full view at the moment.

Mum or dad has just come back with the chicks supper and is feeding them.

They all look strong.

As anyone following these Peregrines noticed that the female has a problem with her left eye, she quite often as it closed or partially closed.

I noticed that one of them had a sleepy looking eye but wasn't sure which one it was.

It's a bit damp for the Peregrines, you can hear the rain falling on the microphone.

I know and they are getting so big that it's hard for the adult to shield them properly.

Hope they will be Ok, although they all look pretty strong and one was really having a good waddle around the nest today.

It looks like the camera has succumded to the weather overnight.

Just checked and it's still off.

The camera is back and the chicks look OK after their soaking last night.

[NannyFerret]

They look nice and dry too.

One of the chicks has been practicing flapping his wings and has just flopped into the corner worn out from his efforts.

The young Peregrines are becoming so active now, I've just been watching two having a walkabout outside of the nest box. Apparently they were ringed yesterday and it's been ascertained that there are two females and a male.

They are getting very strong now, aren't they?

Lots of jumping up and down and wing flapping outside the nest box, getting their wing muscles strong for when they go over that ledge for the first sometime next month.

They were out of the nest box again when I  looked about half hour  or so ago. 

They are getting very independent now.

The nest box is beginning to look a bit rough now, I bet it honks a bit...

I bet it does, although the camera's have kept pretty clean.

Just looked at the nest and can only see 2 chicks

They go over the side of the box now and potter about somewhere around the camera.
Hope no ones gone over the edge. Just going to have a look as I have been out today and then had a visitor so not had time.

 

All three safe and sound and being fed. 
They are coming on in leaps and bounds

One of them looks a bit more advanced than the other two, this is purely a guess... but I reckon that's the male. As males are smaller than females he would have less growing to do so I perhaps males mature quicker...maybe that's the answer.

Yes, I think you are right. One of them was managing to hold his food down while tearing it to pieces.
Perhaps that the one that's been doing a lot of flapping as well.
