Simple Copyright Brush

Recommended Posts

I've been asked to do a tutorial for a simple copyright brush, so here it is :)

Create a new document by clicking File>New

The size isn't critical at this point as you will be able to resize the brush to suit your needs but ensure the background is set to Transparent. Click OK.

Create a new layer by clicking Layer>New>Layer.

Select the text tool. Set your desired font and size (again not critical as long as it's not too small), type your text.

Select the square marquee tool and make a selection around your text.

Select Edit>Define Brush Preset...

Give the brush a name and click OK. The layer can now be closed, no need to save.

It's now time to use the brush. Open an image, select the brush tool (red arrow), select the brush presets (yellow arrow), select your copyright brush (green arrow).

The brush size can be increased by repeatedly pressing the right bracket key ']' or decreased by repeatedly pressing the left bracket key '['.

Hope you find this useful.

Finally, finally I got around to following your tutorial. Works brilliantly - Thanks!

Works OK in Elements, too. Determined to ditch the Adobe subscription, so giving Elements 2018 a free month. Up to now, I'm a bit impressed.
