Yes!

I really like these.....and good on yer ...for having a go at the Dark-Side....not sure how much you have done previously but these are fine.

I came very late into producung any kind of mono work, because I originate from a time when 90% of published photographs and practically all movies were black and white......even the large maga ones like, Picture Post and the Everybody's had nothing but mono photographs it wasn't until the 1960 s that newspaper printing became sophisticated enough fir colour, and magazines like ...Life....and ..... Country Living .....etc went gill colour.

when I took up photography as a post retirement hobby 15 or more years ago....I would have thought it daft to take pics in mono...it would have been....SO old fashioned and dull.

It was late into the hobby that the.....Penny Dropped...so to speak, and I could see the light....at last.

i had a couple of more than excellent teachers, one a friend, and the other one a professional, who produced an excelldnt DVD Tutorial series ,mwhich I eachrd avidly.....

The main emphasis was to enhance all tones, and textures, with focus graduated according to subject......Contrast Grading on layers, using a Photoshop CS6 produced targeted tones, and the sharpening tools emphasised targeted textures ....all very easy to do once learned.

Again, well done you......more please!

Thank you Fuji, and that made for an interesting read as well!

I'm really finding doing B&W shots to be a lot of fun and in some senses I'm getting more out of them than colour ones, because I think you have to think about tones and contrast more, and also light and shade are more important - (I think) - it's definitely something I'm planning on doing more of.

Yes - everything non-colour in other words, which includes textures, shapes, and not forgetting one of the most important things - the story (whether real or imagined) that you present.

If there is one thing that I have learned it's a picture must always have a context or just... "something" that grounds it. That's actually one of the (many) things I picked up from these forums!!
